In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
- Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
- Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
- Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
- Remain in valid Visa status as applicable.
- A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
- Federal Work Study student may apply.
- In good disciplinary standing.
- Must be located in the U.S.
For complete program details, please go to our website: The purpose of this position is to assist the Dean of the Professional Education Division, Assistant to the Dean, and division as a whole. The Office Assistant collaborates on projects and initiatives, outreach, event support, and a variety of other tasks, including general administrative assistance within the Office of the Dean of the Professional Education Division.
We desire an open, self-motivated, eager-to-learn student leader who is able to take initiative on projects while working collaboratively within an office environment. Maintaining a moderate knowledge of the Professional Education Division and its departments, team members, and their roles is important. Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills are integral; attention to detail and confidentiality are essential. A strong eye for graphic design and interest in managing social media are preferred. Previous experience with office skills is helpful but not required. Regularly scheduled hours for this position must fall within the normal workweek (Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm), though the opportunity to work optional evening hours may occasionally be offered for special events.

All applications will be automatically reviewed by Student Employment for federal work-study eligibility. Responsibilities May Include: - Work in the Office of the Dean of the Professional Education Division
- Communicate with department offices, faculty, and staff within the PED
- Design and maintain web pages and social media for the PED
- Support and implement marketing and outreach initiatives
- Serve as a receptionist for the Office of the Dean of the Professional Education Division as needed, assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors with various inquiries
- Gather data, manage and organize documentation, and work on projects related to the Office of the Dean of the Professional Education Division's portfolio
- Provide administrative support, including but not limited to answering emails, announcing visitors, making referrals to other departments, filing, photocopying, and working closely with the Assistant to the Dean on meeting and event scheduling
- Support and assist with initiatives related to student, faculty, & staff recognition
- Oversee the maintenance schedule of the PED's bulletin boards around 22 Fenway and 7 Haviland
- Collaborate with the Assistant to the Dean to maintain an inventory of office supplies, as needed
- Represent the student voice and provide feedback as required
- Additional tasks as assigned
Preferred Knowledge and Skills: - Experience with Google Suite (Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.), Microsoft Word, and Canva graphic design software
- Experience managing social media, preferably for a professional organization
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well both by yourself and as part of a team
- Self-motivation and ability to take initiative on tasks
- Cultural competency and sensitivity
- Keen sense of professionalism and collegiality
- Multilingual a plus
