TRC's partner, Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant has a direct hire opportunity for a Global Trade Manager to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HMGMA’s global trade operations, including customs clearance, transportation, and FTA compliance, focusing on cost, quality, and supplier performance.
• Recruit, train, and manage team members, including expatriates, ensuring performance feedback and evaluations.
• Collaborate with internal departments (HQ, HMNA, HMGMA divisions) and external organizations to support seamless communication.
• Represent the department in purchasing meetings and communicate key takeaways.
• Oversee the Global Trade team, driving employee development and fostering a positive work culture.
• Establish and standardize procedures for global trade activities.
• Ensure compliance with Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations and other customs requirements.
• Manage logistics operations and CTPAT compliance; conduct annual audits and report to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
• Oversee FTA-related tasks, including country of origin verification and USMCA strategy.
• Coordinate international transportation (ocean, air, truck) and arrange expedited shipments to support production needs.
• Monitor and report on Glovis container utilization; lead cost-saving initiatives in logistics.
• Develop and implement global trade strategies and manage supplier performance.
• Oversee customs clearance for KD parts and general purchasing items.
• Ensure all trade processes align with production plans and corporate standards.
• Report monthly on global trade performance and maintain policy compliance.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Proven experience in U.S. customs clearance and transportation (FTA, FTZ, ISF, CTPAT, USMCA, KORUS).
• Direct import/export experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
• In-depth knowledge of customs procedures and industry trends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive or related industry experience.
• 7+ years in freight forwarding.
• 10+ years of supervisory and customs brokerage experience.
• Extensive background in procurement.
