Nutrition Assistant

In this role you will:

• Perform nutrition assessment and certification, counseling, nutrition education and referrals for WIC applicants and participants.
• Prepare high-risk participant certification records for signature of Nutritionist.
• Assist in development of education materials, Facilitate demonstrations, audio -visual presentation and other activities for participants.
• Participate in quality assurance activities.
• Provide follow-up nutrition education.
• Participate in nutrition in services and in policy-making staff meetings.

The successful applicant will offer:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. College courses and/or work experience in health care field preferred. Bilingual helpful.
• History of good attendance and positive work attitude.
• Good communications skills and interpersonal skills.
• Prioritization and organizational skills.
• Sensitivity to the needs of the client population.
• Must be available to work at multiple sites, Saturdays, and during evening hours.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
