Job Title: Electric Pallet Jack Operator Bakery Production Facility
Location: Pico Rivera, CA
Job Summary:
The Electric Pallet Jack Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating an electric pallet jack to move, locate, relocate, stack, and stage bakery products and materials within the production and warehouse area. The role requires maintaining product quality, ensuring inventory accuracy, and supporting production and shipping goals in a fast-paced food manufacturing (bakery) environment.
Pallet Jack Operation:
Operate an electric pallet jack to transport raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished bakery products throughout the facility.
Ensure safe handling and movement of materials to prevent damage or contamination.
Inventory and Stock Control:
Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying counts and ensuring inventory accuracy.
Properly stage and store items in designated areas following FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
Conduct periodic cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity.
Production Support:
Supply ingredients and packaging materials to production lines as needed.
Remove finished goods and transport them to the appropriate storage areas.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and food safety standards.
Perform regular equipment checks and report any issues to maintenance or supervisors.
Ensure a clean and organized work area to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of material movements and inventory transactions.
Assist with recording batch numbers, lot codes, and other required traceability information.
Experience:
1-2 years of experience operating an electric pallet jack in a food manufacturing, bakery, or similar production environment.
Familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety protocols.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and GMP standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
Basic math and documentation skills for inventory tracking.
Certifications:
Electric pallet jack certification or willingness to obtain.
OSHA certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and move products weighing up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment with exposure to flour, sugar, and other bakery ingredients.
