Description:

The Director of Finance plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial health and strategy of the organization. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, accounting, cash management, and internal controls. Working closely with senior leadership, the Director of Finance provides the financial insights and discipline necessary to drive sound business decisions and ensure sustainable growth. This role also leads and develops the accounting and transaction teams.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and manage financial plans, forecasts, and budgets aligned with strategic objectives
  2. Serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, offering insights on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
  3. Lead financial analysis and modeling to support decision-making, investments, and operational improvements
  4. Oversee timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, statements, and dashboards
  5. Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis and corrective recommendations
  6. Collaborate with operations, sales, and procurement teams to align financial goals with business activities
  7. Supervise the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end/year-end close
  8. Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements
  9. Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and tax functions to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  10. Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors
  11. Manage cash flow and liquidity planning, including banking relationships and treasury functions
  12. Monitor working capital and optimize use of financial resources
  13. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
  14. Oversee the use and enhancement of financial systems and ERP platforms
  15. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  16. Establish clear goals, monitor performance, and support professional development of the team

Job Requirements/Skills

  3. Proven ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders

  6. Strong proficiency in Excel and financial software (ERP systems, reporting tools, etc.)
  7. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

Education/Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required)
  2. CPA and/or MBA preferred
  3. Minimum of 8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or director-level role
  4. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis required
  5. Familiarity with GAAP, audit processes, and regulatory compliance
  6. Industry experience in preferred

Physical Requirements

  1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  2. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times (e.g., files, office supplies, laptops).
  3. Ability to move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  4. Occasional travel to other company locations, vendor sites, or off-site meetings may be required.
